I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
All About Christ Lutheran School
Christ Lutheran School is a Christian school serving the Columbus area since 1871. Christ Lutheran School has academic programs for preschool through 8th Grade. Curriculum includes Religion, Math, Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Social Studies, Geography, Science, Music, Art, Technology, and Physical Education. Students also participate in the Accelerated Reader program daily.
Christ Lutheran School offers a safe Christian atmosphere with small class sizes. We have three multi-grade classrooms: K-1-2, 3-4-5, and 6-7-8. Our primary goal is to provide a high-quality program of Christian Education that will lead students to learn about God, the world He made, and His plan of salvation through His Son, Jesus. We seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ that the child may receive the gift of eternal life. Furthermore, we seek to educate the whole child spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. The opportunities offered at Christ Lutheran School must and shall be offered regardless of sex, race, ethnic origin, or economic status.
PTL
Parent-Teacher League
What is the Parent-Teacher League (PTL)?
The Christ Lutheran Parent-Teacher League (PTL) endeavors to support our Childcare and School Teachers and foster fellowship amongst parents, caregivers, and staff members. The PTL organization consists of childcare and school parents along with teachers who work together to support both the childcare and school ministries.
Each parent, guardian or caregiver of children in Christ Lutheran Childcare, Preschool and grades K-8 are automatically members of PTL and are invited to attend any and all meetings. Meetings are held quarterly to discuss outstanding business, plan upcoming events and provide an opportunity for parents to share thoughts, suggestions and opinions.
The PTL coordinates activities that benefit the school such as fundraising, special events and more. Annual fundraisers include Coke Sales, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Platte County Fair Pancake Feed and the Spring Plant Sale. Proceeds from fundraisers go to both the childcare and school to offset the costs of curriculum updates, field trips, technology and supplies.
Additionally, the PTL provides concessions for the home volleyball games, hosts the annual Fall Festival in October, and serves monthly hot lunch during the school year for all children and staff in the childcare and school. The PTL volunteers are also called upon to assist with special events at the church, school or childcare.
Finally, the PTL aims to cultivate a supportive network of parents and caregivers to help guide not only our children, but each other as we navigate raising children of God. Regularly scheduled fellowship opportunities are open to everyone and we welcome you to join us at our next event!
SCRIP
All About the Christ Lutheran Scrip Program
Like many Columbus area churches and schools, Christ Lutheran utilizes the Scrip program for an on-going fundraiser. The funds raised cover the salary of the school aide for grades K-8.
How does Scrip work?
By using gift cards to pay for everyday (and not-so-everyday) expenses, Christ Lutheran profits a percentage from the vendors who participate in the Scrip program. No selling. No extra time. No extra money. Scrip cards can be used for fuel, groceries, eating out and gifts.
What vendors are available through Scrip?
